Fishing on the Sea of Cortez

Sea of Cortez Fishing

Everyone is invited on this sea-fishing excursion in Rocky Point, Mexico. We will have more than one boat available, if necessary.  No experience is necessary! Last year, we had ten men aboard one boat and caught about 130 fish. Cost will be determined based on the number of men that go, but may be around $125.

Frequently Asked Questions & Answers

Can we bring food and drinks on the boat?

Yes, whatever you want. The boat will have an ice chest with drinks already in it.

Do we need to bring our own equipment?

No. Everything is supplied for us on the boat -all tackle and bait and rods.

Do we need to know how to fish?

No. The captain, first mate and other crew members will tell you how to do whatever you need to do.

What kind of fish will we expect to catch?

Probably bottom fishing on a reef about 180 feet deep, with a larger group. Triggerfish, Sea Bass, and other miscellaneous salt water fish.

What will we do with the fish that we catch?

The captain and first mate will assist you with the fish off the hook.  Then on the way back, they fillet them.  You can either take some home to eat or we can donate them to La Esperanza men’s rehab center in Rocky Point.

How do we prepare for possible sea sickness?

Some of the guys take Dramamine as a preventative measure before we head out.
