Thankful & Grateful to God

A few years ago, Men’s Practice came up with the phrase of Thankful Thursday to remind us what we are thankful for. We are quick to complain about the stresses and frustrations of life. Paul wrote about anxiety in Philippians 4:6 and said to look back and be thankful for past blessings. We want to be thankful every day of the week but we’ve used #ThankfulThursday to remind the fellas that we should intentionally choose to be grateful and have a joyful heart.

When was the last time you thanked God for hot water, paved roads, ice cubes, living in the USA (even with our problems), your health, your job? We are so quick to complain and moan that sometimes we need to pause and be thankful for so many things we take for granted. We’ve encouraged the men to start using this reminder at the home, with our wife and children or grandchildren. What are you thankful for today? Make every day a Thankful Thursday.

This is the day that the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. -Psalm 118:24
