The Preeminence of Christ

He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together. Colossians 1:15-17 (ESV)

How Big Is Jesus Christ?

“Head”: Colossians 2:10, Jesus is described as the “head of the body, ” signifying his supreme leadership and authority.

“Reconciled”: Emphasizes God’s act of bringing humanity back into relationship with him through Christ.

“Creator”: Highlights God’s role as the origin of all things.

Apostle vs Disciple

Apostles saw Jesus face to face; witnessed the resurrection; sent by Jesus for a purpose; able to perform miracles on demand; no more Apostles today.

Disciples are disciplined followers of Jesus; Jesus had many disciples in the New Testament and billions of Disciples today; a lifelong journey.
