Weekend Mission – La Esperanza & Rocky Point

Join us on a mission trip, the weekend of February 13-15.

La Esperanza is a men’s rehabilitation shelter in Puerto Peñasco (Rocky Point), Mexico. A partnership exists between Men’s Practice and La Esperanza because it is a men’s shelter that is centered on Christ. Pastor Magdiel Herrera is the director of La Esperanza. Pastor Magdiel emphasizes spiritual growth, personal discipline, and community service as essential parts of recovery. Men in the program are required to attend chapel services, participate in prayer gatherings, memorize Scripture, attend regular worship services, and actively serve in the surrounding community. The shelter provides temporary housing while guiding these men through the process of rebuilding their lives, helping them reenter society and remain free from drugs and alcohol.

For more than a decade, Men’s Practice has been honored to support La Esperanza’s mission through ongoing service and resources. This support has included providing Spanish-language Bibles, men’s clothing and shoes, new mattresses, mechanic tools, and prepared meals. Men’s Practice has also completed several long-term construction projects at the shelter, including the building of a dormitory and a kitchen—projects that extended over multiple months and continue to serve the men who call La Esperanza home during their recovery journey.
