Meet Gary – Pastor and Counselor
The vision of Men’s Practice is to inspire, equip, educate, and motivate men to know God intimately and be transformed into the likeness of Jesus Christ.
Men’s Practice parters with Dr. Gary Norton in personal counsel, relationship coaching, and strategic mediation.
Gary Norton has been married to the love of his life, Elaine for nearly half a century. They have three children and three grandchildren. Born and raised in California, he enjoyed life in the church from childhood. He received Christ at five years of age and experienced the reality of a personal relationship with God through his elementary and adolescent years. Experiencing a call to ministry through Junior and Senior High School, Gary began professional ministry at 18 years of age. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Bible from Biola College, a Master of Divinity from Bethel Theological Seminary, and a Doctor of Ministry from Fuller Theological Seminary.
His ministry experience spanned the next 35 years, primarily in church planting. Gary and his wife partnered with pastoral teams in California and Arizona, serving as Executive and Lead Pastor.
In 2000, Gary experienced a serious health crisis that would eventually be diagnosed as Neurosarcoidosis. This led him to step down from professional ministry in 2004. Gary believes that he will one day be healed from what God revealed in subsequent mission trips and affirming events.
Gary’s book Making His Prayer Your Prayer: Experiencing the Lord’s Prayer was released in March 2026.
